Benefits of Solid-State Starters & Variable Frequency/Speed Drives
Standard pump controls bring an electric motor up to full speed in fractions of a second whereas reduced voltage starters are programmed to do this between 10-30 seconds. Increasing the speed of a motor slowly helps reduce water hammer and other mechanical problems caused by the impact of instantaneous motor starts. Slowly starting a pump can also reduce the demand placed on power lines and the amp draw is nearly half of standard pump starters.
Allows for changing the speed of a pump. A variable speed drive acts very similar to a throttle on a diesel engine and allows the motor to speed up or slow down according to need. These drives are normally programmed to maintain a certain operating pressure while meeting changing flow needs. A correctly sized drive can also be used as a phase converter to manufacture a third phase. When properly used, a variable speed drive can reduce energy costs and improve pumping efficiency.
Agri Industries handles controls from Precision Pump Systems of Boise, Idaho and focuses mainly on ABB drives and components. These starters and variable frequency drives are ideal for all pump motor applications. The ABB ACS550 is a time-tested VFD that has programming made with pumps in mind. A VFD drive can provide the following advantages.
- Protect Machinery from failure and excessive maintenance caused by mechanical shock during starting or stopping.
- Protect Electrical Systems from disruptive voltage drops and power outages caused by locked rotor inrush current.
- Protect Motors from failure outages caused by machine or electrical faults.
Domestic Pumps & Controls
Agri Industries handles a complete line of smaller pumps, motors, and controls for all domestic, residential, and livestock watering applications. One of the excellent products available is the Franklin Electric Subdrive family of constant pressure controllers. his innovative controller is designed for applications with a wide range of flow demands such as large homes, farmsteads, commercial buildings, sprinkler systems, and stock water pipelines. This system provides constant water pressure through variable speed control of standard submersible water well pumps.

Agri Industries's latest investment has been a camera which will let us SEE the physical characteristics of a well.
NOW WE CAN ACTUALLY SEE WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR WELL!
YOU CAN EVEN HAVE A VIDEO OF IT!
Agri Industries uses the R-Cam 1000 from Laval Underground Color Video Water Well Inspection System using two cameras in a single housing, each with a wide-angle lens, for viewing downhole and side view images in water wells or boreholes. Low light level sensors allow the cameras to detect images with minimal lighting power. The video output from the camera duplexes with the control signals and power, going down to the camera on a single conductor armored, Kevlar reinforced coaxial cable. This camera is capable of showing the real condition of a well and taking the guesswork out of what needs to be done to repair or rehabilitate the well.
